Disneyworld Day 6 - Hollywood Studios

By Lionina - 4:02 PM

The wait for Toy Story Mania was probably the longest and had the most cattle-call-esque queues during the entire week, but the ride is seriously fun and has tons of redo potential.

I bought a kids meal as snack and these nuggets came with a vegetables, a cookie and juice box.

The 50's Prime Time Cafe - where the waiters treat you like kids in a 50's TV show. "Don't forget to do your homework." " Did you wash your hands already?" Ask for a TV seat, even though the wait is longer.

Meatloaf, Chicken Soup and Onion Rings

We went to all the shows offered in the Park but most were passable. The Frozen Sing-A-Long and Little Mermaid were probably the most disappointing. Beauty and the Beast and the Muppets 3D were two of the better offerings. I loved all the movie poster parodies.

When the new Star Wars stuff comes out, this may change the game.

Nowadays, throughout all the parks, there are no spontaneous character interactions. Disney made the move to Meet and Greet locations with dedicated lines - unfortunate for atmosphere but great for sweaty cast members and aggressive families. Seems like Star Wars may become the exception. After taking in the updated Force Awakens Star Tours ride, we found two Jawas inspecting recent arrivals for new bartering opportunities - taking off people's watches, playing with cameras, untying shoelaces. There were also a pair of douchebag stormtroopers harassing any fans who were wielding lightsabers and sporting Star Wars merchandise - priceless moments that provide what MMORPG wonks call Immersion.

At the Disney museum, we found intricate models of many Disney Castles.

Fascinating animatronicss programming board

For dinner, we bought ourselves a fried green tomato sandwich (delicious, but no picture) at Rosie's All-American Café while we took in the Phantasmic show. My recommendation is to get to the amphitheater earlier than you think you should because it is one of the better evening spectaculars that Disney puts on and you want a decent seat. Phantasmic is the first and final big event that happens over at Hollywood Studios which means everyone in the entire park ends up there at the same time. Don't end up in the standing room section at the back with a bunch of lazy, seated complainers like we did.
