SM pulls off another win with f(x)'s new album, Pink Tape. While there aren't any tracks that maybe hit the level of some previous singles for me, the production is clean, and all the pretty is offset with moments of off kilter, abstract prog. The girls sound sweeter and more coquettish but never cloying. And some of the more complex harmonies lend an escalating shimmer to the songs. Sonically, their formula is maybe not as strong as Shinee's, but the f(x) electro coloring through all the tracks make the album cohesive and their growth seem natural. Recommended listening.
