Steak was alright but I wouldn't recommend the creamed spinach to my worst enemy: Unpleasant, gloppy texture and overly seasoned with white pepper (among other reasons).
Overall, dinner was so-so. I feel like there are much better prime rib spots for the money. One of them being my own house.
Cheers to the B-day Trifecta, though only two candles shown.
Passionfruit Lassi
Amuse
Lobster and foie gras dumpling with pickled cauliflower in green garlic soup, that didn't taste like lobster or foie.
Miso cracker with kimchi and yuzu sauce over pork belly.
Boar curry with saffron bread. Cod and clams in turmeric sauce.
Hot milk over white chocolate lid, coconut ice cream cake, fruit and brittle.
Smores, passionfruit, carrot, mocha
All good. But the seasonal selection right now at Susicakes is Pineapple Upside Down Cake, incredibly moist cake with fruit chunks, brown sugar and maraschino cherry on top. Sweet and none to subtle but one that I will probably go back to.
Exo - Exodus
New stuff from reduced collective is all over the map. But...
Keeps it super real, super sophisticated. And yet... also manages to stay out of the college rap slum despite all that jazz, spoken word, identity politics poetry, literary lyricism, wonky beat, west coast yesteryear reverence and references. Tupac's ghost makes an appearance. And Snoop. Balance.
Built through and through on evocative songwriting and storytelling; the creepy, tragic mantras of modern made women lounging in swoony r&b minks of girl power and delusion.
This long-time-coming, lushly layered sonic journey reverberates with detail through every instant of play. D'Angelo haunts the album with muted falsetto vocals, queasy melodies, and fractured lyrical consciousness. But the mood is smooooth, so contradictions abound. Pay attention.

See Also: The dreamy and minimal beats on album closer, "Beautiful". Someone really missed Kenny G and PM Dawn.

Chun-dam is a very good, very pricey Korean restaurant with with very good service. Some of the dishes are unique: the pickled white kimchi bosaam for instance, sweet potato shikhye, the beef "carpaccio". And some dishes are just surprisingly good: acorn jello panchan, and macaroni salad (yes, the macaroni salad).
